High School All-State Groups

Audition Information

The All-State High School Ensembles are made up of the top student musicians , grades 9-12, across the state. This audition goes through two phases and will be recorded once. All students auditioning for HS District/All-State will need to play the All-State 2nd Rd audition requirements (Set 3 cuts, 12 scales, sight-reading).

Phase 1: The audition will be recorded at 1 of the sites listed below and sent off to local judges to see who advances to second round.  

Phase 2: Once judges select the top cut of students, those students selected will advance forward with their recording to a second judging panel from out of state.

First/Second Round Band Information:

Registration deadline for directors: Wednesday, September 9, 2026 (Student deadlines will likely be earlier. Ask your band director if you have questions)

Audition dates and locations: 

Site1 - Monday , September 28 , 2026 @ Slidell High School

Site 2 - Tuesday, September 29, 2026 @ Mandeville High School

Audition cost: $20 per audition slot, paid through the student's band program.  Please contact your student's band director for more information.

All-State Jazz/Strings/Guitar Ensemble Audition Information:

Registration deadline for directors: Friday, September 11th, 2026.  (Student deadlines will likely be earlier. Ask your band director if you have questions)

Audition date and location for High School Jazz/Strings/Guitar Ensemble Recorded Auditions: Wednesday, September 23rd, 2025 at Mandeville Jr. High School. 

Audition cost: $15 per audition slot, paid through the student's band program.  Please contact your student's band director for more information.
