Eligibility
Students in grades 7-8 whose directors are current members of LMEA are eligible to audition. A student auditioning for the District Honor Choir must be a member of their school's vocal music program.
Audition Information
Audition Requirements
Students auditioning for Jr. High District Honor Choir will be required to sing the appropriate selection from the four-year cycle listed below in his/her vocal part with the official district accompaniment. Learning tracks are available to directors in the District IX Vocal Directors google classroom. The audition track will be provided at the time of audition.
Prepared Choral Selection
2022-23 – "Sing We and Chant It" by Morley, arr.by Robinson, 3-part mixed, Belwin Press
2023-24 – "Angele Dei" by Anthony Sears
2024-25 – ""Mon Cour Se Recommande A Vous" by DiLasso, arr. by Robinson, 3-part mixed, Alfred Press
2025-26 – "Laudate Dominum" by Victoria, arr. by Snyder, 3-part mixed, Belwin Press
America
Students will also sing the melody of "America" unaccompanied in his/her vocal range. Students should choose their own starting pitch.
