The All-State Middle School Ensembles are made up of the top student musicians , grades 6-8, across the state. This audition is in two rounds, one at the regional level, then one with recordings sent to out of state judges. The required wind and percussion audition materials will be used at both district level (1st round) and state level (2nd round) auditions.

Registration deadline for directors: Wednesday, October 9, 2024 (Student deadlines will likely be earlier. Ask your band director if you have questions)
Audition date and location for 1st Round Concert/Strings and Jazz Recorded Audition: Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Mandeville Jr. High School
Audition cost: $15 per audition slot, paid through the student's band program. Please contact your student's band director for more information.

Those students selected to advance from the first round to the second will go to a central location to record their auditions. This is done instead of the old policy of holding in-person auditions at a location like Lafayette or Pineville. Districts across the state use a standardized set of recording equipment as well as a standard set of procedures.
