First Round All-State Auditions
The All-State ensembles are made up of the top student musicians across the state. This audition is in two rounds, one at the regional level, then one with recordings sent to out of state judges.
Registration deadline for directors: Wednesday August 30th (individual bands may have earlier deadlines)
Audition date and location: Saturday September 16th at Southeastern Louisiana University's Pottle Music Building. Times will be distributed by band directors
Audition cost: $10 per audition slot, paid through the student's band program.
Audition requirements and procedures can be found on the LMEA All-State Band webpage.
Second Round All-State Auditions
Those students selected to advance from the first round to the second will go to a central location to record their auditions. This is done instead of the old policy of holding in-person auditions at a location like Lafayette or Pineville. Districts across the state use a standardized set of recording equipment as well as a standard set of procedures.
Audition date and location: Mandeville High School, September 30th. Times will be given by the director, but most auditions happen between 9am and noon.
Audition cost: $15 per audition slot, paid through the band's director
