Eligibility
Students in grades 9-12 whose directors are currently members of LMEA are eligible to audition. A student audition for the Sr. High District Honor Choir must be a member of their school's vocal music program.
Audition Requirements
Students auditioning for Sr. High District Honor Choir are required to sing the appropriate voice part of the choral selection listed below with the accompaniment CD and sight-read. (This is both the All-State and the District Honor Choir audition selection.)
Prepared Choral Selection
2023-24 – “O Vos Omnes” by Pablo Casals, SSAATTBB, Tetra Music, TC128 (Sing Latin)
2024-25 – “Richte Mich, Gott” by Mendelssohn, SSAATTBB, Warner Bros., LG70179. (Sing German)
2025-26 – “Shenandoah” arr. by Steven Sametz, SSAATTBB, Oxford University Press, 978-0-19-386633-1 (English)
2026-27 – “Crucifixus” by Lotti, SSAATTBB (Latin), arr. Mason, Walton Music Corp., W6006
Note: For consistency, all students must audition using the Walton version of “Crucifixus.”
