Sr. High District Honor Jazz Band

2023-2024 Sr. High District Jazz Auditions will follow the Set I All-State Jazz Material from the lmeamusic.org website linked above.

However, there are a few changes from the all-state requirements. The district jazz audition process and requirements are listed below.

Registration is due Tuesday, December 12th. The google registration form is linked above. 

Auditions will be help on Wednesday, January 10th in the Fontainebleau High School band room. Audition time slots will be emailed to directors before the Christmas holiday break. 

Prepared pieces - SWING, BALLAD, and G BLUES (Not the Waltz) 

Concert scales - D Mixolydian, E Dorian, G Whole Tone, Ab Blues, Bb Blues, C Blues, Chromatic (All State Set-I, page 2)

No sight reading requirement

• District Jazz Rehearsals @ Fontainebleau High School Auditorium

Wednesday, January 24th 6:00-9:00pm

Thursday, January 25th 6:00-9:00pm

Saturday, January 27th 9:00am-11:30am, Concert at 12pm @ FHS Auditorium

The audition fee is $15 per audition. Directors should send a single check made out to LMEA.
